Project Engineer - MEP (Interior Design Projects)

Role: Project Engineer – MEP (Interior Design Projects)
Experience Range: 3 – 6 years
Location: Bangalore

Job Summary: The Project Engineer – MEP is responsible for executing and overseeing all MEP related work within interior design and fit-out projects. The role ensures that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services are accurately coordinated with architectural and interior elements, and
delivered with quality, safety, and within timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Site Execution & Supervision
  • Supervise day-to-day MEP works on-site including HVAC, electrical, fire-fighting, lighting, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure MEP installations are integrated with interior works like false ceilings, wall panelling, modular furniture, etc.
  • Monitor workmanship and adherence to design specifications and shop drawings
  1. Coordination & Integration
  • Coordinate with interior designers, civil teams, MEP vendors, and subcontractors to align services with design intent.
  • Attend technical and coordination meetings to resolve service clashes and routing conflicts.
  • Support mock-up reviews and implementation of MEP components in aesthetic areas (e.g., exposed ducts, designer lights).
  1. Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with safety codes, NBC standards, IS codes, and project-specific requirements.
  • Participate in inspections, pre-commissioning checks, and ensure system readiness for handover.
  • Support sustainability and efficiency standards (where applicable).
  1. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain site execution logs, material checklists, method statements, and work progress reports.
  • Assist in preparing red-marked drawings, as-built documentation, and test reports.
  • Track and report daily and weekly progress to the MEP/Project Manager.
  1. Material & Vendor Management
  • Verify MEP material deliveries against approved submittals and BOQs.
  • Coordinate with purchase/procurement teams to ensure timely availability of required materials on-site.
  • Supervise vendor work as per scope and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality.

Educational Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Work Experience

  • 3–6 years of site execution experience in interior fit-out projects.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience in reading and implementing MEP shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel; working knowledge of MS Project or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of concealed services, ceiling services coordination, and fixture alignment with interior finishes.
