Role: Assistant Project Manager – MEP (Interior Design Projects)
Experience Range: 6 – 8 years
Location: Bangalore

Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager – MEP (Interior Design Projects) is responsible for supporting the seamless integration and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within high-end interior design projects such as commercial offices, coworking spaces, retail, or hospitality
environments. This role ensures MEP systems are installed in alignment with interior aesthetics, functionality, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Execution & Coordination
  • Support MEP planning and execution in alignment with interior design elements.
  • Coordinate between interior designers, architects, consultants, and MEP contractors to ensure system compatibility with space planning and finishes.
  • Track installation schedules and ensure timely completion of services without affecting civil or interior works.
  1. Technical Oversight
  • Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, and coordination layouts in relation to ceiling, furniture, and lighting designs.
  • Support clash detection, value engineering, and integration of services like HVAC diffusers, lighting fixtures, fire safety equipment, and plumbing with interior elements.
  • Monitor site execution of MEP services to ensure minimal disruption to interior detailing.
  1. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure MEP installations follow relevant IS codes, NBC, LEED/IGBC (if applicable), and local regulations.
  • Conduct joint inspections with QA/QC teams for concealed MEP works (e.g., concealed piping, underfloor wiring).
  • Coordinate testing & commissioning of HVAC, lighting control systems, BMS, fire alarms, and water systems.
  1. Procurement & Cost Monitoring
  • Support procurement of MEP-related materials and vendor finalization in consultation with design teams.
  • Track material delivery timelines and raise flags for lead time delays affecting interiors.
  • Assist in cost estimation and BOQ verification for MEP scopes during fit-out.
  1. Documentation & Handover
  • Maintain records of inspections, site progress, snag lists, and vendor communications.
  • Assist in the preparation of handover documentation including as-built drawings, warranties, and O&M manuals.
  • Ensure proper handover is done to Operations team including required trainings and sign offs as per defined process for smooth operations

Key Requirements:
Education
:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 6-8 years of experience in MEP roles, preferably in interior fit-out or turnkey design-build environments.
  • Familiarity with services integration in interiors (e.g., false ceiling integration, mood lighting, sensor-based systems)

Technical Skills:

  • MS Project, and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Understanding of HVAC, electrical load balancing, plumbing systems, and lighting layouts in interior contexts.
