Assistant Facility Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Assistant Facility Manager to oversee the maintenance and safety of our facilities. The Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of our building systems and creating a safe and efficient work environment for employees. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage a variety of tasks to ensure seamless facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement facility management policies and procedures.
  • Plan and manage facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal, and parking.
  • Oversee building and grounds maintenance, ensuring that cleaning, maintenance, and security standards are consistently met.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Plan and manage facility space allocation and layout.
  • Coordinate intra-office moves and oversee renovations and office expansions.
  • Manage contracts and services for vendors and service providers.
  • Manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met.
  • Manage and lead a team of facility staff, including cleaners, maintenance technicians, and security personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Facility Manager or relevant position.
  • In-depth understanding of facility management best practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office and facility management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Facility Management or similar credentials.
  • Experience managing budgets and forecasting costs.
