Job Summary: The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Fixed Assets will own FAR and fixed asset accounting across multiple locations/entities, including capex-to-FAR handover, CWIP ageing and capitalisation, depreciation, tagging/verification, FAR-GL reconciliation, and audit schedules – especially for fit-outs/leasehold improvements and project-heavy rollouts.
Key Responsibilities:
Fixed Asset Accounting & FAR Maintenance
- Own and maintain the complete Fixed Asset Register (FAR) for all locations and entities
- Multi-location rollouts, project-to-FAR handover and capex governance
- Ensure accurate capitalisation of assets in line with accounting standards (Ind AS / AS)
- Classify assets correctly (Leasehold Improvements, M&E, IT Assets, Furniture & Fixtures, etc.)
- Calculate and post depreciation accurately as per Companies Act and internal policies
- Manage insurance coverage for all fixed assets, ensuring timely renewal, accurate asset declaration, and alignment with organisational risk policies.
- Coordinate with insurers, finance, and operations teams to handle claims, maintain documentation, and ensure end‑to‑end compliance for asset insurance processes
Capitalisation, CWIP & Asset Lifecycle Management
- Track Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP) and ensure timely capitalisation upon asset readiness
- Coordinate with Projects and Operations teams to obtain completion certificates and asset handover documents
- Monitor asset additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and write-offs
- Ensure proper approvals and documentation for asset movement and disposal
- Prepare and maintain inventory register and ensure timely transfer and capitalisation
Physical Verification & Asset Tagging
- Plan and conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets across locations
- Reconcile physical verification results with FAR and investigate variances
- Ensure asset tagging and asset location mapping is maintained accurately
- Prepare variance reports and support closure of discrepancies
Reconciliation & Controls
- Monthly: FAR–GL reconciliation, depreciation run, CWIP ageing report
- Quarterly: physical verification plan + variance closure
- Ensure strong controls around asset capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals
- Identify gaps in asset accounting processes and recommend process improvements
- Support implementation of system-based asset controls within ERP
Audit & Compliance
- Year-end: fixed asset audit schedules, CARO/Companies Act reporting support, impairment review support
- Support statutory, internal, tax, and special audits related to fixed assets
- Provide audit schedules, FAR extracts, depreciation workings, and supporting documents
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, accounting standards, and internal control requirements
- Support management reporting related to assets and capex
ERP & Systems
- Maintain asset master data in ERP systems (Zoho preferred)
- Support automation and system enhancements related to FAR and asset tracking
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity within ERP
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with FP&A, Projects, Procurement, and Operations teams
- Coordinate with external auditors and consultants for asset-related matters
- Provide timely reports and insights to finance leadership
Qualifications and Skills: - Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA / CA Inter / CMA with strong fixed asset accounting experience
- Experience: 4–8 years of hands-on experience in Fixed Asset Accounting and FAR management. Experience with leasehold improvements / fit-outs / MEP capitalisation and componentisation.
- Industry Preference: Asset-heavy industries such as Real Estate (Commercial preferred), Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Hospitality, or Warehousing
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of:

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Zoho preferred)
